Construction of the new library began in February 2017, and just over a year later it now welcomes students and staff. While there is still work to be done, the speed at which it was constructed is incredible.
All the books from the old library, which is currently being converted into another faculty, were moved over to the Catalyst during the last few months. There are three floors of resources, quiet rooms, group study rooms, and access to all floors is available by stairs or lift.
On the very top floor, there are rooftop gardens that students can use for relaxing and in the nice weather, study time with magnificent views of Ormskirk and the surrounding countryside.
Students can hire out camera equipment including camcorders and digital cameras for their study work and interests.
Moreover, there is a wide range of DVD films and television shows that can be loaned for research or general enjoyment outside of studying.
In relation to the developments at the University, the final accommodation block is nearing completion with the hope of it being ready in time for the moving in day of new students.
In the past year, the developments at Edge Hill University have been amazing and shows the commitment the University has towards its future and the quality of learning for new and present students.
